NaNoReNoMo

Nope, I just can’t do it. And you know what? It’s not me, it’s you. Your prose is dense, sprawling and about as uninteresting as watching paint dry. I don’t give one shit about a single character; as far as I’m concerned they’re all batshit crazy - and believe you me, I loves me the crazy - but are they interesting? Is the writing particularly clever? (Most of the time the “jokes” are more than obvious. It might be clever if the author wasn’t trying so hard.). To quantify, I would gladly re-read The Sound and the Fury or any book by Faulkner before I would pick up anything Joseph Heller’s pen has touched.

I gave it the old dropped-out-of-college try and at 120 pages I’m done. Friends recommended you, critics lauded you, but I’m not finding it hard to quit you, Catch 22. I hope you enjoy your spot in my unread (and staying that way) pile.

I don’t know who that Thomas Heller character is, but I sure wouldn’t recommend Joseph Heller.
